One Tree Hill local, Casey Van Heuven, 9, took out honours in the 2013 Credit Union Christmas Pageant Mini-Float Design Competition, beating a record 430 designs submitted by students of all ages from around South Australia.

The Pedare Christian College student’s winning design entry, Ringo – North Pole Hotline, was made into a mini-float and it appeared in the Credit Union Christmas Pageant on 9 November 2013.

The mini- float competition, which is held every two years, was open to individual students as well as class entries. A mini-float is a small mobile set that is light enough to be pushed or pulled along the Pageant route. This is the second time an individual entry has been triumphant.

Entries in the competition included drawings, models and paintings with fairytales and fantasy again among the most popular themes this year.
