The four sponsoring credit unions: People’s Choice Credit Union, Community CPS Australia, Credit Union SA and Police Credit Union give back to the community in many, many ways. One of the most special is through the naming rights sponsorship of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant and the commitment to one of its most beloved traditions - the Pageant Queen.

The Pageant Queen tradition, established in 1940, has been fostered by the credit unions since 1996. Over the years, the tradition has grown to include a King and Princes program (2009) and an extensive Royal Family Tour program to libraries, metropolitan and regional schools across the state in the lead-up to pageant day. The Royal Tours are designed to bring pageant magic and memories to children who may not have the opportunity to experience the pageant in person. This is sometimes due to geography, disability or being unaware of the beloved South Australian icon as they are new to the country.

In 2011, the Pageant Royal Family has visited Cowandilla Primary School and Ashford Special School. It has headed as far north as Port Augusta and Quorn Area School.

We're not sure who has more fun on our visits - the children or the Royal Family!
