The Event
Every year, more than 300,000 people line a 3.35 kilometre route in Adelaide, South Australia to welcome the colour and excitement of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant: the traditional herald to the festive season.Eagerly anticipated by children across South Australia, this magical parade makes the streets of Adelaide come alive with the spirit and joy of Christmas, bringing smiles to the faces of spectators of all ages.
Now regarded as one of the world's greatest pageants, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant is an Adelaide institution and an important part of South Australia's event history, with the first ever parade hitting Adelaide streets in 1933.
2008 Christmas Pageant
Bring your biggest smiles, and waves and prepare to welcome Father Christmas and a myriad of floats, walking sets, bands, dancing groups and of course the clowns when this spectacular procession arrives in town on Saturday 8 November 2008.
Children and adults alike are invited to join in the celebration.
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is owned and managed by Events South Australia (the event division of the South Australian Tourism Commission) and sponsored by six leading credit unions in South Australia - Savings & Loans, Australian Central, Community CPS Australia, Police, Powerstate, and Satisfac.
