UNI STUDENTS TO CREATE WEBSITE PAGEANT MAGIC AND WIN
For the first time, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant is running a competition asking university students to design and build a fun and interactive children's game or activity for this iconic Adelaide event website.
All applicants will gain commercial experience, with the winner receiving $1000. Their work will be displayed on the internet, and will be a great addition to their CV.
There are three key steps to the competition:
Step 1 - Register your interest with magic@cupageant.com.au by 8 July 2008
Step 2 - Complete a one page project plan by 22 July 2008
Step 3 - Short-listed entries will be invited to present their concept to a judging panel during the week commencing Monday 28 July 2008
The winner will be advised by Tuesday 5 August 2008 and will have until 15 September 2008 to build their game, ready for it to be launched online and enjoyed by the thousands of children that visit this website.
Applicants can enter individually or as a team.

HANDY SURVIVAL SITES FOR PAGEANT GOERS
Back by popular demand are the Credit Union Survival Sites, providing some fun and friendly assistance to all those who attend the 2007 Credit Union Christmas Pageant on November 10.
The six Credit Union Survival Sites will be located along the 3.35 km route, offering a family friendly service to all who attend the event, including a safety point for lost children, free Credit Union Christmas Pageant flags, fun colouring in activities to keep the kids busy, as well as water and sunscreen supplies to spectators of all ages.
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is celebrating 75 years since the first event in 1933 so the Credit Union Survival Sites will have merchandise to mark the special milestone, for sale.
Each of the six sponsoring Credit Unions will have their own Survival Site. Keep an eye out for the Credit Union Survival Sites under big blue umbrellas at the following locations:
· Savings & Loans Credit Union- South East side of Victoria Square
· Australian Central - Rundle Mall
· Community CPS Australia - Grenfell Street
· Police Credit Union - North East corner of Carrington Street and King William Street
· Powerstate Credit Union - Hindmarsh Square
· Satisfac Credit Union - South West corner of South Terrace and King William Street
From its humble beginnings with only eight floats and four bands, the Pageant, now sponsored by the credit unions and owned by the South Australian Tourism Commission, has grown to be one of the largest and most loved Christmas pageants of its kind in the world.
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is a chance for the community to celebrate the joy of Christmas and it's completely FREE.
The Credit Union Christmas Pageant is owned and managed by the South Australian Tourism Commission and sponsored by six leading credit unions in South Australia - Savings & Loans, Australian Central, Community CPS Australia, Police, Powerstate, and Satisfac.
